Chicago, IL – Award winning filmmaker John Borowski releases his third film, Carl Panzram: The Spirit of Hatred and Vengeance on DVD October 2, 2012. Only available from the official film site, panzram.com, the first 1,000 DVD’s include a limited edition autographed collector’s card signed by filmmaker John Borowski.

A lifelong criminal and serial killer, Carl Panzram befriends Henry Lesser, a young jail guard at the Washington DC jail in 1928. After hearing of Panzram's torture, Lesser sends Panzram one dollar and convinces the killer to write his autobiography while secretly supplying him with pencil and paper. Panzram writes over 40,000 words documenting his entire life of and incarceration, torture, rape, and murder.

From John Borowski, director of H.H. Holmes: America's First Serial Killer and Albert Fish: In Sin He Found Salvation, comes the definitive docudrama chronicling the entire life and crimes of Carl Panzram. Included is footage of Panzram's original handwritten papers from San Diego State University, location footage from Leavenworth Penitentiary, Clinton Prison and Red Wing Youth Correctional Facility, and an exclusive interview with Panzram's jail guard Henry Lesser. John DiMaggio, Bender from Fox’s Futurama, provides the voice of Carl Panzram.

HH HOLMES THEATRICAL AND PBS SCREENINGS
The Portage Theater in Chicago will screen H.H. Holmes on October 23 at 7:00pm. Filmmaker John Borowski and Holmes' great, great grandson Jeff Mudgett will be present for Q&A.

On October 28 and 31 at 7:00pm, watch HH Holmes on Chicago PBS Channel 20. John Borowski will be hosting the pledge drive during the show.

My First Letter from a Serial Killer

On May 28, 2011, I arrived at Birdy’s bar and grill in Indianapolis, Indiana for The Crime Scene event. Matthew Aaron, the driving force behind the show, was given an unopened envelope by the owners of the bar. The letter was sent by serial killer Kieth Jesperson from the Oregon State Prison. The envelope was addressed to Birdy’s Bar and Grill, Attention: The Crime Scene.

Dear the Crime Scene

I know Joe Hiles and have heard of several who are there. What I am interested in is John Borowski, filmmaker. Hoping he will consider doing a film on my story. Especially my first murder case here in Oregon. The Bennett murder where Multnomah County sheriff’s and prosecutors coached Laverne Pavlinac into pointing blame at herself and John Sosnovski for killing Taunja Anne Bennett on January 20, 1990.

5 ½ years they spent behind bars before I, Keith Jesperson, was able to (?) my total guilt in the case and got them released.
